another day before gawai

Monday, May 30, 2005
Today. Yes today.. I woke up 6 am. Argh...

My family and me visit my granpa and granma grave site. The grave is just a couple of km from my house and we need to walk a lil bit. When we reach the grave our first fear is to find the tomb being raided. But thank God nothing happen but there is sign showing that there is a try to raided the tomb.

There is nothing valuable there. It's just another simple Iban's grave yard. Well we (the whole longhouse) clean the grave every year during this time of year. I do little weeding around the grave compound.

After the visit, a friend come to my house, he is selling wild boar, RM 12 per Kg. Yummy... And he also sell 'kasam babi' (wild boar meat marinate in salt)and it smell like hell. If a mat salleh smell it, he sure run 5km away.

After that we do little shopping, cushion shopping exactly. We check out a new Furniture shop called Federal. I was spoiled by the variaty of choices. But the price tag make me...........hm...

Now I'm thinking the sofa that they buy is not suitable too big for our room.

I'm bored.

The Road Patrol!!!

Friday, May 27, 2005
For a couples of day ago I noticed that Police Patrol car is going up and down the road in front of my house. There is like 3 cars patrolling. Just now there are two patrol car flashing their lights (beautiful blue flashing lights, wished my Gen3 have one) and turning on their sirens. So loud, I thought there have been an accident again.. duh...

My neighbour even complains about the road blocks that she have to pass every morning for the past few days. My gosh what happen to Sarikei. Maybe there is a very dangerous criminal hidding in Sarikei but the local authorities hide the truth because they trying to avoid panic. I'm so paranoid. I even thought my Uni have a secret nuclear missiles silo (what an imagination).

But one simple explanation is Gawai Dayak celebration. Today is when all the schools clean their classes, teachers from "ulu" area travel to town and home, family travel from as far as Kuching to Lawas and the traffic on Trans-Borneo highway increase.

That is the gawai feeling that I feel every year. But the feeling is different every year. I wonder why?

More post about Gawai celebration to come (dedicated specially to Ibans who is abroad now). Tommorrow we (my family) are going to do some "gotong-royong" cleaning our house.

Cheers.

Today my father and me paint the kitchen. Now the kitchen is 75% finish. Tomorrow I will finish everything.

Up until now. the paint cost already reach RM1000++ darn. so much money..for a paint.

I was reading this site by a field researcher and she sure have a really good imagination. Can you imagine bats doing research about homo sapiens.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com
Oh.. look.. the bat is doing a research on a homosapien. The homosapien is suffering from sleeping disorder.

Note: The pic is toooo large..

Image hosted by Photobucket.com
Oh.. my gosh the bat is doing her blog.
Web log: Today when I was on the field doing my research about homosapien I saw a very sad thing. One of the homosapien died because it was choked by the trapping net. That make me really sad today. Bla...bla...bla...

Oh boy..

Sunday, May 22, 2005
I post to much post. darn..

a trip to the emergency room

Nothing happen to me.

Just a little fever and some blocked nose.

I enter the emergency room and there sit two nurses. From their body language I know they are new a trainee. I ask them what to do (Since the emergency room have a new system.duh...) One of them smile and the other giggles. Duh.. WTF gurls? ( oo... they are girls) They asked for my card. Then the Medical Assistant come to check me.

The conversation goes like this(In Iban+Malay):

him: What wrong boy?
me: a little fever, cough, sorethroat and blocked nose.
him: hm.. (writing something using his all-wonder-doctor-handwritting)Come let me check your lung.
me: Ok.
him: How long?
me:two days already.
him: take this medicine. this is antibiotic..are you allergic to pennicillin?
me:no
him: here is cough syrup
me: ok.
him: finish your medicine.
me:ok thank you.

What wrong with the conversations? Nothing la. Just to show how standard a medical assistant will check you.

What I want to highlight here is the nurse. Man.. young nurse is hot. Using their all-fitting uniform. *drooling* You might say me so hamsap but who cares. I like to see nurses and infact I like to see womens in Uniform. Maybe that is why I watch J.A.G in astro.

To make things more embrassing is one of the trainee nurse is my old classmate and I dont even recognise her. #*(!&**&(&^ damn it.

Now she is thinking: That fredy is so %&^%%. He dont even recognise me.

Sorry Tracy(yes her name is Tracy). My father told me that the nurse is Tracy. Argh... Have I miss a freaking change to meet gurls? No..Yes...No... Argh... WTF..

cheers.
My lIfe is getting more depress now. sixthseal.com's articles teach me to use benzodiazepin(correct spelling ka?) to relief my stress.

Duh... read the news yesterday. I don't even know when they declare it. What is the different la? Don't know. Even though my ex is from miri I never like miri so much. Miri is (from my point of view) rich people town city. Just like Sibu a shopping heaven and food town. Sarikei a sleepy town. Kuching a what city??

BTW happy sity day Miri.

Cycling In Sarawak

Monday, May 16, 2005
Today I met a traveler who cycle through Sarawak. I think he cycle from Kuching and going toward Kanowit (He ask direction from me). We (my friend and me) meet him at Jakar, he is having his dinner at a coffeshop where I'm a frequent patron there. His name is Even/Evan (sorry I don't get the spelling) and he is from France. Later he is going to Sabah.

The coffeshop owner ask me to help him with directions to Kanowit since she's not fluent in English. Well, helping people is my hobby (duh...). I draw a nice and simple map and some instructions for him with the help of my friend.

He is a nice guy and not your common tourist who live in the comfort of 5 star luxury hotel, he is a traveler. I tell you, cycling through Sarawak using the pan-borneo higway (no it doesn't have 4 lane)is a pain in the a$$. With pot holes every few meters except for the new Betong-Sebangkoi road. And not to mention the soaring hills.

It have been a long time since I meet cyclist like him. The last cyclist that I see is 10 years a go. That is a long time. To tell you the truth I really like to meet the foreigners who REALLY explore the true Sarawak, not the one who only visit Kampung Budaya in Kuching. duh....

Cheers.

The curse of the curve

Sunday, May 15, 2005
They did it again. Duh... Another accident happened at the Deadly Sungai Paoh Curve. Can be said like that ka? Since this one happen just after the curve on a straight road. The accident involved two motorcycles and the pillion is hurt badly while the riders suffer minor injuries. This is the third accident happen at the same place. About 100 meters from the site a car hit the bus stand and a motorcycle collides with a lorry about a month ago.

What scary is that this accident have a trend to follow. When an accident happen at that curve there will be other accidents follow days or weeks later. This happened before. Once there was a car skid to the side of the road, wrecking the whole car. Later about a week another accident happen and another and another. One accident is the worst; it involved two cars crashing at the telephone poles killing at least one of the passengers. I think this curve is haunted and hungry for bloods now.

So road user who travel from Kuching to Sarikei or vice versa, beware of the curve just after the SMK Sungai Paoh and after the Sungai Paoh bridge. It is deadly and most of the victims is the user traveling from Kuching. The curse is back.

My TMnet bill is ....

Saturday, May 14, 2005
Recieve the bill a couple of days ago. My mum open it and she say,"wah... look at the telephone bill, RM150++". I was like WTF who call so much? Then she check and say your tmnet bill is RM95+.

My gosh.... like that I can apply for Streamyx already but my location is so far from the nearest Telekom HQ. Blogging cost a little I guess. But It wouldn't be long. In two month time I will be in UMS using the free connection :).

A couple of day ago I was very busy painting my living room. Now finish already. The kitchen is next.

Just now I read a blog by a Sabahan gal about National Service. It is great to read a blog in Malay Sabah. check it out DreamSome

cheers

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Yes it's that time of year. This is my first time to this event. I've been to Sri Aman once and this is the second time. Sri Aman is more developed now.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com
Welcome to Sri Aman. This is the entrance to Sri Aman. Another 9km to reach Sri Aman from here. Reaching Sri Aman as early as 7.30 am is a good idea because you have parking space to spare. Thank God.

This fruit is interesting because the name is Buah Engkelili which is the same with the name of a small town with the name Engkelili.

This is interesting. Picture is taken from The Ministry Of Education.
The caption say "Projek Rain Harverting Sekolah Kebangsaan Selepong" Harverting??? What is harveting??? Spelling mistake.. Should be harvesting. Come on guys you are the educator of our people and you mistakenly spell harvesting and didn't bother to recheck your spelling twice.

How to make jelly

Wednesday, May 04, 2005
I like cooking. Making jelly is cooking right?
Here is a guide to make jelly with fruits inside.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com
1. You need to buy a jelly powder and some canned fruits from your local shop. Note: Use transparent jelly and fresh fruits can be use also.
Here I use lychee.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com
2. Boil the water. Read the jelly instruction for detail. Add some sugar for flavouring, don't put too much, just a little to make it sweet. Add the jelly powder into the boiling water. WARNING: Do not put the jelly powder into cold water as the jelly will become hard if it come in contact with water. I learn it the hard way :)

Image hosted by Photobucket.com
3. Pour the lychee into a bowl or something appropriate.Keep the juice for flavour.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com
4. Pour the jelly into the bowl with the lychee. Then wait for it to harden. Put it into the fridge to chill it. Wait......

Image hosted by Photobucket.com
5. Tadaa!!! Jelly with lychee... yummy.....

Feast your eyes to the beau... wait this is not beauty this is a major harrasment to the Kumang Gawai (Gawai Dayak Pageant). My gosh... they should filter some of the contestant. I taken the picture for the sake of the dress. The dress is called Ngepan in Iban. This colourful dress is very heavy and can weight up to 20kg if they use real silver to make the metal part(Now modern dress use aluminium as substitute). The shinny thing on the head is called Sugu Tinggi in bahasa Iban, that thing can weight up to 5kg each. Heavy? And that dress is freaking hot.

I kill my cat

I run over my cat when i reverse my car. I am so sad now.

Rest In Peace 'Empek' and Sorry for everything
